TotalRunnerAthletics will be partnering this fall with East Granby Parks & Recreation to offer Seymour students a unique running club opportunity. This program aims to introduce the sport of running to students in a way that promotes their physical, cognitive, and social needs while providing them an opportunity to participate in various races. Running is a sport for all ages and is so much fun. This 10-week program will allow students in grades 3-5 to learn the importance of being physically active for life in a fun way.  We will focus on the fundamentals of running through age-appropriate activities and games that build confidence and are gender-inclusive. We will also encourage our young runners to adopt running as a part of a healthy lifestyle. The Sprinters 5K Club provides them with an exciting journey towards completing a Kid’s Run, or 5K in various races! This program is designed for young runners of all abilities to train for and participate in weekly 5K events. The first 4-5 weeks, participants will build their running skills, learn proper techniques, and gain confidence. During weeks 5-10, they will have the opportunity to showcase their progress by running an event (events are typically Saturday mornings). Our fun and supportive environment ensures that every child feels motivated and encouraged to achieve their personal best.
