TotalRunnerAthletics’ Lil Sprinters 5K Club TotalRunnerAthletics’ Lil Sprinters 5K Club TotalRunnerAthletics will be partnering with East Granby Parks & Recreation to offer Seymour students a unique running club opportunity. This program aims to introduce the sport of running to students in a way that promotes their physical, cognitive, and social needs while providing them an opportunity to participate in various races. Running is a sport for all ages and is so much fun. This 8-week program will allow students in grades 3-5 to learn the importance of being physically active for life in a fun way. We will focus on the fundamentals of running through age-appropriate activities and games that build confidence and are gender-inclusive. We will also encourage our young runners to adopt running as a part of a healthy lifestyle. The Sprinters 5K Club provides them with an exciting journey towards completing a Kid’s Run, or 5K in various races! This program is designed for young runners of all abilities to train for and participate in 5K events. The first 3-4 weeks, participants will build their running skills, learn proper techniques, and gain confidence.
