TotalRunnerAthletics “Stride Squad” Running Club - Seymour School Edition
Join us for an exhilarating journey into the world of running with our revamped "Stride Squad" Running Club, presented by TotalRunnerAthletics in partnership with East Granby Parks & Recreation. Designed for students at Seymour School, this 7-week program is tailored to cater to both novice runners and those already passionate about track and field.
Program Overview:
Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive and engaging running experience that fosters physical, cognitive, and social development while instilling a lifelong love for running and healthy living. Through a series of fun-filled sessions, participants will explore the fundamental principles of running, develop essential skills, and embrace the joy of being active.
Key Program Features:
Inclusive Approach: Our program welcomes runners of all abilities, from beginners taking their first strides to seasoned track enthusiasts. We prioritize inclusively, ensuring that every participant feels supported and valued.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Over the course of seven weeks, participants will delve into various aspects of running, including concepts of walking and running, warm-up techniques, pacing strategies, running physiology, goal setting, journaling, nutrition, hydration, safety practices, and establishing a sustainable running routine.
Skill Progression: Our sessions are carefully structured to facilitate skill progression, allowing participants to build upon their strengths and challenge themselves at their own pace. From mastering proper running form to setting and achieving personal goals, each week presents new opportunities for growth and achievement.
Engaging Activities: With a focus on interactive learning and hands-on experiences, our sessions incorporate a diverse range of activities, including group discussions, practical demonstrations, interactive games, and exciting challenges. Participants will stay motivated and engaged while honing their running skills.
Supportive Environment: We foster a supportive and encouraging environment where participants can thrive both individually and as part of a team. Through mentorship, peer support, and camaraderie, participants will forge lasting friendships and inspire one another to reach new heights. We will also encourage family involvement by offering parents/guardians opportunities to participate in select sessions or family fun runs.
Program Details:
Cost: $145 which Includes after-school healthy snacks, TotalRunnerAthletics Running Guide for Kids, Training Log, as well as weekly prizes and races.
