Musical Theater
Step into the spotlight in our high-energy and wildly popular Musical Theater class!

Perfect for young performers who love to sing, dance, and act, this class brings the magic of Broadway. Students will learn how to tell a story through performance by combining character work, vocal training, and jazz-based choreography, all set to fun, age-appropriate songs from favorite musicals.

Each week includes vocal warm-ups, acting games, movement exercises, and basic choreography that helps dancers develop stage presence and confidence. Students will explore how to portray different characters and express emotion through voice and movement. This class is a favorite for a reason! Come join the fun and bring your inner star to life!

*All musical theater dancers will need black slip on jazz shoes*

About the Instructor
Cindy Williams is the director and sole choreographer of the East Granby Parks and Recreation Dance Program. She began teaching at the age of 17 and later opened her own studio in Springfield, MA, which she ran for 15 years. After closing the studio to welcome her fifth child, Cindy taught for 22 years at New England Dance & Gymnastics Centers in Granby, CT and Westfield, MA. In 2019, she launched the East Granby Parks & Rec program, quickly growing it from 35 to over 150 dancers.

Certified by Dance Educators of America, Cindy is dedicated to teaching strong technique in a fun, supportive environment. Her mission is to nurture not only skilled dancers, but kind, respectful individuals. Today, she continues to build a dance community rooted in confidence, connection, and a lifelong love of dance.
