Spring: Just for Fun ART-ventures

Get ready to "create some fun"! Just for Fun Art-ventures leads children on an imaginary tour through the world's greatest art museums, inspiring creativity through exposure to the FUN-damentals of artist's tools, techniques, and art forms, many inspired by the masters. But don't just admire these great works - decorate your home with masterpieces of your own! Draw Oil Pastel Flowers like O’Keefe, create colorful canvases in the style of Matisse, and design upside down and inside out Watercolor Dream Paintings inspired by Chagall. Sculpt Swirly Clay Pencil Holders, create Burlap Landscape Collages, and decorate Paper Mache Boxes. Craft wacky Cubist Costumes inspired by Picasso, draw unique self-portraits, and design sparkling Fabric Wall Hangings. Creatively educational, whimsical, and unconventional, these art-ventures welcome children into a world of artistic wonder. Children bring home beautiful masterpieces each week, sure to transform any home into a gallery!

Winter: ART-ventures Around the World
Choose from one of two days being offered... Both days the program will be held in the large conference room at the EGTown Hall. 

Mondays, January 23 - March 20, 2023 (no class 2/20) | 3:00 - 4:30 pm
extra date added for early release - new end date is March 27, 2023

Thursdays, January 26 - March 23, 2023 (no class 3/9) | 3:00 - 4:30 pm

Art travelers go on a spectacular journey around the globe, touring various countries and cultures. Create hot air balloon lanterns to take you up and away! Each week we land somewhere in the world and create wicked cool cultural art using unique materials and artisan's techniques. Design Mosaic Picture Frames in Greece and sculpt miniature clay Vejigante Masks in Puerto Rico. Build Tribal Rain Sticks in Australia, and paint Maracas in Brazil. Plus, design Japanese Windsocks, Mexican Yarn Paintings, Spanish Paper Fans, Native American Story Necklaces, and more! Fun facts about each country and culture, geography and art history are included. Throw your imagination in your suitcase and let's hit the road!

Logistics
Parks and Recreation staff will meet the students at the end of the school day at Allgrove school and walk them over to the Town Hall for class. A light snack will be provided, and pick-up will be at the East Granby Town Hall promptly at 4:30 pm.

Required Permission Slip
The forms linked below contain the permission slip that is required, by Allgrove School, for your child to attend this program. Please choose the permission slip that correlates with the day your child is registered for and return the signed permission slip to eastgranbyrecreation@gmail.com no later than one week prior to the start of the program. Failure to submit a permission slip may forfeit your child's spot to a student on the waiting list.
