Adult Tap Dance (Teens & Adults)

Our Adult Tap classes are perfect for rhythm lovers who want to stay active, challenge themselves, and have fun.

Classes focus on musicality, timing, and producing clear, crisp sounds while building confidence through both choreography and improvisation.

Tap dancing offers a great cardiovascular workout, improves balance and coordination, and provides a creative outlet in a fun, supportive environment. Lace up your shoes and join the rhythm - it’s never too late to dance!

All dancers will need black tap shoes

Beginner Tap Dance
Perfect for adults with no tap experience!  This class will focus on the foundation steps and help the dancer build confidence and skill.  This class is perfect for someone who is looking to try Tap for the first time!

Tuesdays, 8:00pm - 8:45pm 


Intermediate Tap Dance

Perfect for adults with some tap experience, this class builds on foundational steps and introduces more complex rhythms, footwork, and combinations. Dancers will explore various styles of tap while continuing to develop coordination, timing, and musicality. 

Wednesdays, 7:15 - 8:00 pm


Advanced Tap Dance

This fast-paced class is for experienced tappers looking to refine their technique and be challenged with intricate rhythms and choreography. Dancers will focus on clean sounds, stylistic expression, and dynamic combinations that showcase individual flair and musical expression. 

Wednesdays, 8:15 - 9:00 pm



Fall Session: 
Tuesdays:  September 15 - December December 1, 2026 (no class November 24, 2026)
Wednesdays:  September 16 - December 9, 2026 (no class November 25, 2026)

The Winter Dance Recital is scheduled for Sunday, December 13, 2026 at 1pm with the dress rehearsal for Friday, December 11, 2026 at 5pm.





About the Instructor

Cindy Williams is the director and sole choreographer of the East Granby Parks and Recreation Dance Program. She began teaching at the age of 17 and later opened her own studio in Springfield, MA, which she ran for 15 years. After closing the studio to welcome her fifth child, Cindy taught for 22 years at New England Dance & Gymnastics Centers in Granby, CT and Westfield, MA. In 2019, she launched the East Granby Parks & Rec program, quickly growing it from 35 to over 150 dancers.

Certified by Dance Educators of America, Cindy is dedicated to teaching strong technique in a fun, supportive environment. Her mission is to nurture not only skilled dancers, but kind, respectful individuals. Today, she continues to build a dance community rooted in confidence, connection, and a lifelong love of dance.
