East 
Granby Parks and Recreation is excited to announce our winter basketball program. The program will begin with practices, starting the week of December 7, 2026, and games will begin in January 2027.
The East Granby Youth Basketball program is designed to provide a positive recreational basketball program for students in grades 3-8. The goals of the program are to teach the players the rules of the game, help them develop individual skills, foster teamwork, allow them to learn good sportsmanship, and to HAVE FUN! The program will give players an opportunity to play basketball with their friends and make new friends too.
Team rosters may be kept specific to each grade, or multiple grades may be combined into one team, depending on the number of registrations received. If combined Grades 3-4, 5-6 & 7-8 will be combined)
There will be 2 practices a week and the focus will be on instruction and team building within each group. Practices will take place at the Middle School and/or the High School Gym, and will run for 1 hour in length. The day, time, and location of the practice will be determined by coach and space availability. The registration process will ask what days/times your child is not available.
Practices will be held on weekdays, beginning the week of December 7, 2026, and run through February 27, 2027. (NO PRACTICES will be held during Winter Break, or on January 18, February 15 and 16, 2027)
Games will take place on Saturdays for 8 weeks beginning in January 2027. East Granby Youth Basketball is participating in a league with teams from Granby, Suffield, Hartland and the Farmington Valley YMCA. Depending on how many teams are available to play, other towns may be added.

January 23, 2026 February 20, 2026
January 30, 2026 February 27, 2026
(Snow date make-up March 6, 2026)
All participants must come to all practices and games dressed to play, and wear indoor gym sneakers. Jewellery of any kind is not allowed, for the safety of all of the players.
Registration for this program is open to East Granby residents only. All participants will receive a team jersey as a part of the program.
Cost:
Early-Bird Registration by November 4, 2026: $150 ($25 discount will be taken off during check out)
Registration beginning November 5, 2025: $175
The deadline to register is Sunday, November 15, 2026.
This program is run by parent coaches. We strive to have 2 coaches per team. If we do not get parent coaches the program will be cancelled. Training & support is provided. Please consider coaching.
