Join us for a Park Trail Maintenance Day on Saturday, May 16, 2026
9:00 - 11:00 AM at Cowles Park!
We’re looking for volunteers of all ages to help spruce up our park trails: tasks may include clearing debris, light raking, and general clean-up to get the trails ready for the season.
Cowles Park is a true local gem, featuring over 15 miles of wooded trails that wind through beautiful natural surroundings. Many of these trails connect to the scenic Metacomet Trail and offer stunning overlooks of the Farmington River. The park is also home to the renowned NEMBA (New England Mountain Bike Association) trail system, making it a premier destination for mountain biking enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike.
This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet EG Parks and Recreation Commission members all while enjoying the outdoors, and help maintain a space that so many people love.
All are welcome to participate! Middle school-aged children and younger are invited to join with an adult.
Please sign up in advance so we know who’s coming. We will meet up at 9am in the parking lot to Cowles Park on Route 187.
Whether you come solo, with friends, or as a family, we’d love to have you. Bring your energy, wear comfortable clothes, and help us keep Cowles Park beautiful for everyone to enjoy! (If you have clippers or hand saws, please bring those too!)
