Come explore the exciting world of aerial robotics through fun, hands-on challenges!
Using engaging, real-world scenarios, participants will learn how drone technology is used in aviation, public safety, engineering, and robotics while building foundational flight skills and exploring interactive robotics concepts. Along the way, campers will strengthen problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and confidence as they discover potential career pathways in Science, Math, and Engineering.
Participants will fly the new Tello Boost drone, learning safe operation, takeoff and landing techniques, and precision maneuvering. Campers will run safety test scenarios and take part in simulated search-and-rescue missions. Working in teams, they will apply planning, design, and technology skills to build and program a quad-rotor drone tailored for a specific first responder mission.
Missions and activities include:
- Building and navigating an obstacle course
- Lessons in basic aerodynamics
- Learning to safely fly and land the Tello Boost
- Maneuvering near a mock hazardous waste container
- Conducting a simulated search for a lost hiker
This immersive camp combines technology, teamwork, and real-world application to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers
Campers will also operate and take home their own hand-size quad copter at the end of the week!
