Safe@Home Program

Youth Services is excited to announce we are partnering with CPR Training Professionals to offer another session of Safe@Home.  This a 90-minute program designed for students in grades 3-5 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone.

During this class, students learn to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Some of the items that are discussed:
-*Indoor Safety
*Outdoor Safety
* Online Safety
* Personal Safety
* Handling Emergencies
(Weather, power outages, smelling smoke or fire, smelling gas, carbon monoxide, and break-ins)
* Preventing Injuries
* Injury Management
* First Aid chart (different types of injuries and how to handle them)

Included in the cost is a Safe@Home booklet that each student will take home, so they can then go over what they learned with their parent or guardian. 

Early Winter Session:  Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 1:10pm - 3:00pm at R.D. Seymour School in the Cafeteria.  Registration closes on Monday, November 27, 2023.

A permission slip is needed in order for Youth Services staff to sign your child out of school and transition them to the program.  Pick up is promptly at 3:00pm at R.D. Seymour School in the cafeteria.  


Please return the permission slip and Safe at Home Registration Forms to the Youth Services Office.

Cost: Resident $20 | Non-Resident $35
