East Granby Youth Services is excited to share a leadership opportunity for high school students for the 2025-2026 school year. The High School Youth Action Council (YAC) offers high schoolers a chance to develop their leadership skills and become actively involved in the East Granby community through team building, training, community service, and educational and social projects. The group is open to all East Granby residents in grades 9-12.

The program is designed for youth who are learning to be leaders. You’ll gain valuable skills such as effective leadership, being a positive group member, personal responsibility, communication, project and program management, and how to engage in your community. Throughout the program, you will be encouraged to try new things, challenge yourself, and take on new roles while discovering more about who you are and how to grow as a leader.

Over the years, the YAC has created several impactful programs, including the Recycle-A-Gift program, Sports Day, and participation in the annual Town Halloween and Easter events. Additionally, members have worked on a mentorship program with students at Seymour School.
