High School Youth Action Council Application Process

East Granby Youth Services is excited to share information about a leadership opportunity for you for the 2024-2025 school year. 

The High School Youth Action Council (YAC) is an opportunity for high schoolers to develop their leadership skills and be involved in the East Granby community through team building, training, community service and educational and social projects.  The group is open to all those East Granby Residents in Grades 9-12.
 
The program is geared toward youth who are learning to be leaders. You will learn about what it means to be a leader, how to be a positive member of a group, personal responsibility, communication, project, and program management and how to be an active member of our community. You will be asked to try new things and challenge yourself to take on new roles all while learning who you are and how to do this. 

Some of the programs they have created over the years are the Recycle–A–Gift program, Sports Day, and participation at the annual town Halloween and Easter events as well as working on a Mentorship program with Seymour Students.

Applications must be returned to the East Granby Youth Services Office (mailing address 9 Center Street, East Granby, CT 06026) or left in the Youth Services Drop Box located at: 79 North Main Street, East Granby. If you are returning your application by email it should be in a PDF or Word format and emailed to eastgranbyyouthservices@gmail.com.
