Middle School Youth Action Council Application Process

yac
East Granby Youth Services is excited to share information about a leadership opportunity for you for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Middle School Youth Action Council (YAC) is an opportunity for middle schoolers to develop their leadership skills and be involved in the East Granby community through team building, training, community service and educational and social projects.  The group is open to all those East Granby Residents in Grades 6-8.

The program is geared toward youth who are learning to be leaders.  You will learn about what it means to be a leader, how to be a positive member of a group, personal responsibility, communication, project, and program management and how to be an active member of our community.  You will be asked to try new things and challenge yourself to take on new roles all while learning who you are and how to do this.

Some of the programs they have created over the years are the Great Skate, storybook trails program, annual town Halloween and Easter events as well as a Sports Day and a Mentorship
program with Seymour School students.

This year the group continued to send members to the babysitting class and has done several craft events for younger members of the community.

Hard copies of the applications may be returned to the East Granby Youth Services Office, (mailing address 9 Center Street, East Granby, CT 06026) or left in the Youth Services Drop Box located at: 79 North Main Street, East Granby.  If returned via email they must be in a PDF or Word Format and emailed to eastgranbyyouthservices@gmail.com.
