Fall Skills and Drills
Is your child wanting to improve and build upon the basketball fundamentals, improve their strength, and agility and become a more well-rounded athlete who is ready to play basketball competitively?
East Granby Parks and Recreation and theTotalRunner will be offering a 10-week Skills and Drills program for aspiring basketball players in grades 6-8 that will focus on strength training to improve athleticism, plyometrics and conditioning drills to maintain cardiovascular performance and basketball skills fundamental training, and of course scrimmaging with their peers to further develop their passion for basketball.
Our sessions will be led by Coach Jennifer for athleticism strength, and agility training and our top local basketball coaches from both our travel leagues and high school teams will lead basketball fundamentals, drills, and scrimmage activities. This program will teach students to move properly, build muscle, improve mobility, and sharpen fundamental skills to become a better, more well-rounded athlete.
Sessions will be held on Thursday after school at the high school gym from 2:15-4pm. Late bus is available for students as needed. Please note on October 6 & November 17th - both half days - the program will run from 12:30pm - 2:00pm with no late bus.
Program training considers the multiple sport participation of many students to ensure students are not being over-trained, but rather better prepared to excel in all sports, injury free and feeling confident in their performance.
Sessions begin the week of September 12th and run through November 18th. Registration Fee: Residents: $140 and includes t-shirt and after-school snack.
