Nature Camp

Monday: EG Farms to Newgate Prison 3.7 miles
Tuesday: Newgate Prison to Copper Hill Rd. 2.5 miles
Wednesday: copper Hill Rd. to Granbrook 3 miles
Thursday: Granbrook to Seymour School 1 mile
Friday: Cowles to Tarriville 3 miles
This camp is for children in grades 3-6 (academic year 2021-2022) who want to be outside, rain or shine, learning about East Granby’s open spaces. The camp will be run by Amanda Thompson, EGLT President, and EGLT student interns.
Campers will hike part of each day 2-4 miles learning the trails of East Granby. We will spend time looking for live bugs and insects, learning about each species and their special features, learn to identify trees, flowers along the Farmington Valley Greenway, Metacomet Trail, Newgate Prison and Salmon Brook.
Campers will also learn outdoors skills like basic first aid, knot tying, trail orientation skills, and what to pack for a hike.
Drop off will be at a different location within East Granby every day.
When: June 13 – June 17, 2022
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Cost: $89 for residents and $99 for non-residents
Where: Various locations (drop-off and pick-up locations are shared once you are registered for the program)
